Your face so close that I could plant a kiss squarely on your beautiful lips. Your breath so warm on my cheek that it gives me the shivers. Your body trembling as you hold yourself above me, not wanting to put your full weight on me, lest it should prove to be too heavy. Why are you trembling? You have tears in your eyes. Why? I see my questions reflecting back at me as I stare into the shimmering pools forming in your eyes. I place my hand on the side of your cheek and feel the moisture already there. "What's the matter, baby?" I ask, Scared of what I think I see. "I love you Holly", I hear you whisper, "Please don't ever leave, stay with me forever". I hear the words and my heart flutters Butterfly wings in my chest. October 2001 |
