I heard a shrill crowing, sounded like mineminemine and it was a gorecrow or maybe a turkey vulture trying to lay claim to a carcass. And I thought that some people think that's love. Saying you own it--- like you can buy a heart--- steal one, or even give one away. But you don't own a heart--- at best, you lease some space, put in some homey touches, decorate it to your taste, and move in maybe for life. But a heart will always belong to the owner, and you forget that if you get too comfy, and start feeling like it's yours. And you better think twice about changing things that don't belong to you. And no matter what you feel or think or intuit NO ONE owns a heart that isn't their own. |
