It has come to pass that on a crisp and clear night I cannot say that I think on her little, I think of a woman and of her light. I cannot say that I have ever thought of her more She is that which lights the darkness of the soul And guides this weary traveler to the innkeepers' door. Have ever you been the wiser? To have known a fairy Or better yet a sprite For she is this and more Have ever you seen that which eludes age? That which defies all wisdom? Or even seen that which others' cannot see For she is this and more Felt your heart almost burst with laughter Seen the world through tear filled eyes Been to the top of a majestic mountain Gasping for air, your whole body aching for some relief For she is this and more Sat in the sunlight, warmed throughout Smelled the perfume of a summers' day Heard a voice in the winter wind And seen an image in a cloud above For she is this and more She is that which starts each day anew That which calms my fears with only a touch Lights the room with such intensity that cannot be seen And the one that I love She is this and more to me |
