A Two Cent Rhyme

Harem Scarem, Molly my dear
The wizened Quaker quacked
My rubber pants have chafed me bad
And my oval mirror's cracked
So, go fetch me an ocean
Or any sea will do
My Popsicle garden needs watering
And I've just now emptied my shoe
There's a dragonfly in my soufflé
And another pair in my ears
They whisper evergreen secrets
About the bubbles in my tears
Mrs Gigglesnort's on the telephone
But she can't remember her face
It fell off when the dog was shimmering
And she's got a deception in its place
The tulips dream of nonsense
And the pain left in their nose
But I think it's the fence post's problem
He's been reckless with his throws
There's time enough for spirit scones
And a pot of miniature tea
And if the mailman asks about my wings
We'll give him a cup for free
I don't know where you'll sit my dear
They replaced your chair with a smile
You could try the thorns for parasols
But watch out for the buckets of guile
And after the clouds turn kinetic
And the Muenster cheese starts to ache
I'll tell you a story about dutiful
And the chocolate marmalade cake
And love is like a harness
That's strapped around my heart
It only makes sense to those involved
But that's my favorite part
