when the summer heat is thick, I will bring you an ice cold beer (a stout or porter whichever you prefer) and when the winter's frigid breath creeps under your skin, I will wrap these arms around you tightly when a mountain of work is before you, I will offer you a sandwich and my words of encouragement when joy overcomes you, it will overcome me too and when you can't shake the blues, I will rattle them until they fall from your shoulders when the darkness of night has you trapped I will be your release... but most importantly, whenever I am beside you you will have love. |
