Can a fog live inside a person? Can a person ever be that lost? Within their own skin, they seem to only crawl Reduced to searching in the darkness Groping for some sort of way out Because they are trapped in their own skin... It's a long way down now, from where we are It's a quite a long fall there, from what might've been I find myself pacing back and forth, back and forth As if trying to avoid my own darkened shadow But you know that you can't outrun shadows or demons And I fear that both haunt me, tonight... In a dream I saw your face In the stars I heard you sing Oh, it's been a long time since I've seen the sunlight dance It's been such a long time since my heart had wings And I wonder if you really understand it all Or if you just think you do For that could be a danger to us both If you're merely playing "Let's Pretend"... |
