It's hard being a man these days. Now, before you ladies say anything, let me explain. Sure, we can pee standing up, but believe me that loses its perks pretty fast once you step into the mens bathroom. Sure, we only have to spend five minutes or so in the morning to get ready for the rest of the day, but men are mostly utility products, doesn't take that long to get us ready. The problem with being a man these days is that the world expects too much out of us. Being a man back in the day was pretty easy by the way my dad talks about it. A man was expected to be tough. A man was expected to never cry. A man was expected to be protective. A man was expected to not share his feelings, espcially not in public. A man was expected to be like a rock. Hard and unmoving. Although that led to plenty of men not being in touch with their feelings and not being to express it, but it worked. Those type of things were for the women anyway. Times have been a changin These days both men and women are expecting stuff out of men. Men still expect other men to be tough, but women expect us to be soft. Men still expect other men to never cry, but women want to see us cry. Men are expect other men to be protective, but women want to share the responsibility. Men still expect other men to never express their feelings in public, but women want us to join poetry readings etc etc. Men still expect other men to be like a rock, women want us to be more like sand. Something they can take and mold into something. Men have to satisfy both genders at the same time. We have more responsbilties and we are expected to be in touch with things we weren't built or raised for in the first place. So, ladies... When a man is trying to be a gentleman and open your doors and pay for everything he isn't trying to singly handly destroy women sufferage and take away your independace he is just trying to be a gentleman. Don't be upset when a man is unable to express his feelings towards you. If he is struggling, believe me, he probably feels what you want him to feel so don't give up on him, he'll tell you soon enough, he just wasn't raised that way. Just give him a chance. |
