I know you are seething, dipped twice pain and betrayal and I know you think I am some evil man stealing bitch who poached your private preserve. I know you are hating him. and hating me, and don't want to hear a damned word, but it wasn't like that lady. I was never number one, and he told me that from the first. And it was not so much that I wanted what you have, or that he was just dying to stroll down cheat street and there was not a moment when he touched me, that he would not have rathered it had been you. So I hope you can find it in your heart, to get past the anger, push away your rage--- and let him close again. If it helps you to know, I will say it. He never loved me as much as he loves and needs you. All I was is a mistake he will regret. But you are still his reason, his love, his life. That part he never betrayed--- and it meant something more than any broken vow, or any touch born of two lonely hearts that needed a moment to feel needed. |
