The truth behind you shades its face- disguised by colors of the rainbow, but betrayed by the thunder before the storm. It hides there- behind your eyes in the corners of your smile dormant by day raging at night when you're alone with your shadows and the misery you etched into your skin- your release relief from what you cover with your blanket of denial- The outside world that shakes your bones with anger. As if you could cut out the damage ingrained... I traced those marks with security- fingerprints of my acceptance over your marks of shame Nothing but scars almost invisible to the eye but trusted to my heart. |
