Boredom

I don't want to watch T.V. anymore,
Don't want to read a book I've read before.
I don't want to listen to my music today,
I already know what the lyrics will say.
No point in going over to a friend's place,
Predictable conversation with a well known face.
I could get in my car and go for a spin,
But the roads are all the same, I can't win.
So many streets I have walked down,
Now I can't get lost in my own town.
Trapped in this airtight glass bubble,
Can't break out I'll get in trouble.
People before me must have tried,
I can't see them, does that mean they died?
In another world is there someone like me,
Wanting to experience the meaning of free.
Or hell, maybe just a change of scene,
Where no one knows me  you know what I mean?
And why does this poem have to goddamn rhyme,
Gonna break some rules, It's about that time.
To live freely and happily one must sacrifice boredom,
Not always an easy sacrifice,
That's all for now..
