I came to the conclusion sometime ago that God didn't make any whole people, only broken or chipped ones, all imperfect to some degree. I think that to achieve completeness we have to commit ourselves to another imperfect person. Not such a bad plan really when you think about it. In the whole battle of gender equality over the years, in an effort to make their point women have weighted the scales too heavily. In my inexpert opinion the truth is this; they aren't any worse than men and they aren't any better. Their sense of justice is no keener, their capacity for compassion no greater, their spiritual vision no holier, and they can be just as prejudicial as men, just as pitiless, and ultimately just as wicked. But then, what do I know. |
