After a while you learn that you live through everything. Nothing is too terrible for people to do to you, and if they don't stop your heart you can endure anything. Your spirit doesn't die, so it can be tortured without end, and you just go on and on, and on. Nothing is so terrible that it simply stops of itself, because the sheer horror of it has reached the point of the unimaginable. It's not that way at all. And that is the secret to life, that suffering is infinite. |
