walking down a lonesome road dust stirs at my feet forming swirls of rust dancing each its mote to air as my steps pick a beat pounding out in stuttered heat prancing like a proverbial fool yet finding in dust some cool as the sun beats down me a laughing clown and you sitting a side waiting forever on a ride as i stroll on past i offer a hand to rise twin dust clouds compete rising in this sordid street as along a lonesome path no longer alone twisting to the beat of hearts castanets arm in arm we line dance our meet dusts with swirls from flickering feet |
