New Song Sung

Sullen eyes swollen with heat; burning at my face.
Can't you give me a moment to catch my breath?

I am speaking words, to you, but they don't seem audible.
'Cuz you don't look up and my head's buried in the bed.
Twisting, crying and suffering through this communication;
hell is where I leapt for joy, now, speeding away from you.

There is no point and these words mean less and less.
I didn't plan for demise so soon, nor do I apologize.
I won't drag your name through the puddles and holes.
Sweet, cleansing silence dissolves, after the door is closed.

Drink in the novel start, I have been given this day anew.
Sad cheeks puffed from screams; lonely I will remain.
