he had a thick accent and amazing cobalt eyes he knew how to make the girls swoon they were all gaga for his hard russian body each frizzy haired, over tanned, lovely female made daily passes at him but i always ignored him (i'd learned not to play with fire) maybe that's why he singled me out he asked to go in front of me in line once "it only take ah, one minute" he promised his order took a long time to fill i rolled my eyes at him, feigning irritation (so the view wasn't bad from behind) "That was more than a minute" I said He looked at me with a slanted blue wink his lips curled up in a nike swoosh of soft pink "It's a russian minute, baby" he strutted off, with the world under his toes well, i couldn't help but be interested the man was an original wonder, to say the least one night, under a sheet of stars and a blur of alcohol we met again the woods were thick fireflies and couples that blended into one "You like piece of gum, baby?" he put the stick of spearmint in his mouth and half of it stuck out towards me he leaned over and i bit off the end of it my lips grazed his russian speaking, rose colored, twins i could no longer resist and so i let him pull me in we kissed like we shared one set of lungs his foreign fingers found their way under my tank top and beneath my waist band and into my soul we wandered off, and got lost in eachother and part of me is still lost somewhere in russia with the blue eyed, heart stealing, bandit that can't write a letter to save his life |
