i dont regret
what never happened
between us
i rejoice in the fact
that you came into my life and left
because i was still left
with the knowledge
that someone like you
exists in this world
and for a brief moment
you were a part of mine
and i was a part of yours
you were my best friend
and i was yours
some say the best lovers
are your friends
and if that is true
we would have been
great together
but you left
for reasons i understand
and like i said
no regrets
just joy
and even though
we never had our chance
for that one true romance
i still love you
and i know in a way
you still love me too
and even though it's a sappy overused phrase
i will miss you
