SIMPLE SOULMATE

Building

I gaze past the painting
of some powerful king's
greatest earthly passion,
his fortress and castle.

I stare lost in thought,
thinking it stands proud
in this skyline painting,
his grandest self-tribute.

Castle where he ruled,
maybe loved, left heirs.
These left to posterity
to endure or admire.

There is this sameness
from skylines in this city.
Great architecture here
in building and passion.

Notice the same spires
and foundations of these
grand illusions to success
left by many driven men.

We admire magnificent
designs often together.
We cherish quality time
always sharing together.

Our love does not depend
on any grand illusions like
kings crowding mountains
with fortresses and towers.

We love with grand passion
up on a bare mountain top,
or down below and building
new sand castles each day.
