we lay together. with limbs spread across limb, our bodies meshed linear with the light. we lay in silence, with the air finding itself trapped against glass. stillness you asked me if i felt the constriction, the constriction in your heart. perhaps a pressure, you said. "my heart is hurting" hurting with longing. and i saw a tear, tumbling. falling, into the pool of light below, the single ray forlorn from a naked gray sky. we watched, mindless, to the storm, as it fell. raging, as we lay quiet in its eye. |
