Honey-Fire Kisses

My heart's breathing stardust,
Sighing quietly in the dark,
As the past trials slip away,
Leaving a string of glowing
Moments, remaining beautiful,
Bright against the fading darkness,
Hope in solid form, as words
Become caresses, surprising more
Than myself, in the instant
Where warm flesh touches warm flesh,
And I have never known such bliss as this,
Lost within these honey kisses,
Enlightened by your tender, hypnotic way--
I am burning with a fire that leaves
No outward sign, no telltale mark,
But I am consumed from the inside, out.

I have had dreams like this before,
But until these moments aflame,
None have come to to rage like this,
A passion that takes on a life of its own,
Bringing down the curtains,
Putting to rest the once-proper facades,
As the threat of consequecnes bear no fruit,
But are simply lost creatures of a past existence,
Fading into shadow, into night, into memory,
As do all childish fears that hide quietly, waiting
Within a moment to stop the heart,
But these things, these demons froms within,
They live no more, here and now in this moment,
And I have absolutely no fear within me--
And yes, I know they tell always tell a child,
"Be careful what you wish for,
Because you just might get it,"
But the pulsing heart within me,
And these lips that burn with your kiss,
Urge me forward, one foot in front of the other,
One kiss after another,
So that I am determinded to find out for myself,
What lies ahead, after, and in between,
These blessed moments with you.
