Daylight/Little Rain Blues

I swear it gone from knee-level to waist-high, an' I'm a-headed up that creek,
Good Lord ain't made barrier big enough to stem the waterfall from her cheek.
Mighty Mississippi indeed-Ol' Man River got swept off in th' overflow like a rat,
'Cause I ain't never seen nothing like her rapids wash men away just like that.
From smile to a thunderhead, one wrong look an' her lightnin's about to strike,
Better run for cover, boy, or you gonna learn what those power lines feel like.

Hell got no fury like a woman scorned, but don't give baby no reasons to cry,
Else she whip your coast with gusts that blow you away 'fore you get th' eye.
We screwed in every direction; below y'feet Mother Earth, Eve from ol' Eden,
An' who the hell the genius give 'em exclusive right when it come to breedin'?
Can't wash our hands of this one, 'cause they got us all by the collective pipe,
Anyone think they smarter than that get to see if sheeps worth all o' th' hype.

Ain't nothing prettier than women in love, but sometimes it gets mighty deep,
Even Satan himself grabs raincoat and shut damnation down before the seep.
You think one o' us is worth a deluge, the end-all-be-all o' your life and limb?
Corner your obsession an' see if he think like you, if he wellin' up to the brim.
Little rains make everything grow, but girl you gotta let that sunshine in too,
Let your heart flow wit' love of someone that want his daylight 'cause o' you.
