HAUNTED

HAUNTED

For a moment, I forgot you were dead.
There was this dazzling fine daydream.
I was out tying garlands of honeysuckle,
sweet clover with ribbons and sunshine;
things to leave sweet scent for evening.
Then you drank in this scent in our bed,
pulling me down dark corridors instead.
But a storm and chill brought me awake,
to the blackest of night, terror at my fate.
And sadness gripped me as if I am blind,
until I felt new love kiss away the dead.
Tho' which is the dream in this dream?
