If I had known that you would cross my path I might have lived differently, maybe not so many drinks in the dark strangers, so many women who call me lover, maybe not so many dead end jobs and certainly not so many fights. I might have kept hidden the pieces of myself that I gave to others, so that the heart I offer you know wouldn't be a fractured prize glued together with hope and faith and wishes. But if I had walked this road in any other way I may have taken a turn down a trail that would have lead me astray and I have to believe that every moment I have lived, every trial I have suffered, is what lead me here to the payoff: you. |
