A Quiet Goodbye

Your offerings were hollow
easily shattered by the naked sound
of my heart breaking and yearning
If there was love, you let it go
If there was hope, you watched me fly away with it
In the raw silence that has spilled over
You have become a distant point on the horizon of a rocky shore
I will not ache any longer to turn back the clock
Just as I am sure you never did
