Sudden Eye Blues

Dedication: Pearls

It done changed her in an instant, an' all it take was that glance,
Damn if gypsy woman hadn't tol' her she meet him jus' by chance.
As quick as he there he gone, melted into crowds likes molten rocks,
An' all she could do was stand pat, her face paralyze by aftershocks.
It like she thought 'bout that second forever, perhaps longer it seem,
And nothin' else matter to her after him, drifting through that dream.

Some call it love at first sight, and even th' blind can see it so,
It draw every sense you gots towards one, and refuse to let you go.
Images dance all over imagination 'bouts every facet o' they being,
Only thing you know is without them, you ain't assured of anything.
Each moment become a lifetime of askin' youself what's meant to be,
Dealin' with burn in y'heart that warms you love from every degree.

Time passed her by just as he had, and boy she was a heartsick fool,
And jus' like woman gonna do, she play it off, try an' act Joe Cool.
But foolin' noone with that poker face, we knew she was fairer game,
Me bein' the enterprisin' type, I went askin' around an' got a name.
Jus' when all feel lost, I got a Cheshire Cat goin' at her surprise,
When th' man she be lovin' and longin' met her with 'is sudden eyes.
