Banshee

Cover your ears, baby, 'cause my voice ain't compromisin'
And this blast is gonna split eardrums over that horizon.
I don't know if you ever heard a single thing I've said,
But I guarantee this message getting burned in your head.
I can feel all my furies reverberating like thunderclaps,
Now they've come like the apocalypse to break your traps.

I've heard all the prophecies of women that were scorned,
But neither Hell nor they ever believed what I've warned.
That on the shoulders of man reside two competing beings,
One tempting indulgence while another promises you wings.
The alpha would dictate that I be left with what is right,
While an omega screams retribution on everything in sight.

And now I listen to my heart and hear what flows so free,
That nothing you could ever say would break a part of me.
Then I kneel in prayer, querying God how He would respond,
And the answer comes to let go of my ire and move beyond.
Then I stand with my decision, vowing how I won't regret,
But I'm not one to forgive, and I swear you'll never forget.
