AROUND THE BEND

I went to see a place today
and in windblown waves
sweet memories there I spent
in seeking shells and solace
noticing how the trees are bent

Gnarled from years of struggle
in paradise against eternity
and realized the ability to bend
for all, for you and me
makes life easier in the end.
