AS GOOD AS IT GETS!

Today he fixed the door and the sails;
picked me back up, told me funny tales.
Gave me reasons to live a bit longer.
Waited patiently for me to get stronger.

The day is better in new love chemistry,
and us moving further from cold history.
Stretching out the hours, all well spent,
in plans of living on boat, cabin and tent.

Excited, I am, in such a life that is to be;
independent, yet joined in camaraderie.
Willing, I am, in simple of each new day
in teamwork, creativity, and time for play.

I fixed the dinner, smiled at wagging tails.
Hush puppy, I sang, we'll next see whales
and marvelous mountain, glorious sunsets!
Aren't you glad this is as good as it gets!

Each day is brighter in happiness and love.
I beam at stars and moon traveling above.
I could wish for more, why would I want it?
Life's is so good away from the gauntlet.
