One day, you answered a survey and when you finished, you shared your answers. What's your favorite colour? Olive What's your favorite food? Olives What would you most like to do? Eat olives And so on. I thought that it was funny, especially from you, because you're usually so serious and reserved. I giggled. I giggled again, and had to shake my head to stop myself. I continued straightening the books on the shelf in silence. And then I realised. I was wearing an olive skirt. "Oh, all right then," I said, half-dazed, not thinking. Half the books slid off the shelf. As I picked them up, I tried to catch a quick glimpse of what was going on behind your eyes. I thought you were being cheeky. Maybe you were just laughing at me. I was flattered, amused and slightly confused. I didn't know I could be anything else. I think you knew then you could make your point. |
