I came to you, tears falling from my tired eyes. You made me believe that you'd stay by my side. Days turned to months, months to years, we shared our problems, memories and fears. I held onto you, right through it all. Why did you stand by and watch me fall? The look in your eyes, it's not the same. The word on your lips, only a game. Why all the misery? Why all the pain? The man I love hurt me again. How do I love a stranger? Embrace a body so cold? How do I understand this "new you" I try to hold? I can't stop this feeling, I must keep control. You're killing my spirit, scarring my soul. I stayed through the anger, the hostility, the distrust. I've felt the hurt and God knows I cry. I now must ask one question... Why? |
