How exciting to see you once again Memories of a year ago flooded my being The laughter we shared I remembered your touch Those kisses so passionate The way I loved you so But today as I saw your face What sadness I could see The way you have aged Your eyes have dulled Your laughter gone Your dreams vanished The joy striped from within You have pulled within your shell Have you given in to the battle of life that beats us down and given up all hope The way you looked made me sad Am I to blame for this sadness you feel What joy I would gain to know you have missed me so but, to know that it has stripped your hope is not worth the love I offer Your happiness is not mine for the taking If only I could return it to you and take away the scars The pain I have caused brings such grief That I am capable of causing such harm How I wish I could change it all just to see you smile I am sorry Please forgive me |
