IT'S HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME

IT'S HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME

Once I was another trophy, sitting on your shelf,
full of dreams and promises, crying to myself.

I said I love you and nothing remained the same;
you just went for other trophies, playing a game.

Well, I'll dust myself off, make a dive for the floor.
Blinded by a fixed game again, what a bore!

Game's over, I won't slam the trophy case door.
Didn't see the other trophies, what was in store.

It's my fault, you see, I always let you keep score.
You dumbed me down, but I had better at my core.

I realize it's my fault in needing, believing.
I just gave you more practice in deceiving.

My shine is gone, maybe such sweet sorrow,
But watch me win more than a trophy tomorrow!
