OUT OF KANEOHE BAY,

there it is again, those clicks and whistles
in echolocation and communication spin
the huge form emerges, nudging us now
as I run for the bow, such high excitement

can you see the great eye, spying on us
tho' we're the ones first trying the spying
atop benign great white, waving you over
to look closer now, such high excitement

maybe there is more understanding than
either of us can fathom in the sight of us
wrapped together, leaning over this rail
repeating vows, in such high excitement
