i watched your slinky crawl
across the room
noiselessly, deadly
fascinating me

to smack this arachnophobia
welcome, blackwidow,
and see me shiver
over all those pretty legs

leer at me, hanging on the wall
with sizing-up eyes zoom
stalking even closer, trying me
come a bit closer,
just call me the gecko
