POOR WILL'S GONNA PAY

there was a fella who took his best shot
after she told him that's all he's got
so he tried hard to fire one last arrow
empty quiver, not a ready arrow in the slot

but he hoped this wasn't all that he's got
he begged her to forget him not
to his pharmacy took a wheelbarrow
got some pills that keep her smiling a lot

he knew where there's a will there's a way
or so he had read day after day
to never let his prospects be narrow
so might lose her over extra rolls in the hay

his feats became legend this-n-that way
so her lawyer filed a case today
claiming he's now become a stray arrow
for this shooting crime must pay, pay, pay
