Sunflower Blues

Feel the familiar colors of Ma Nature comin' around; blue skies are a-dawnin',
Nothin' like feeling of the fresh whispers of everything around here a-yawnin'.
Time now to shake off chills of Ol' Man Winter an' search for a sunshine treat,
Nothin' I know like the clean crystalline of forever skies make today complete.
Strollin' among the grass and sands of the Southern lands; not a finer display,
Think I'll lay out in this here patch of the rainbowed ground for lil' while today.

Lookin' up at a stretch of Heaven, make me wonder what it like to be in bloom,
Nothin' better than growin' up underneath starlight, bits of rain an' lots of room.
Say hello to Mrs. Bumblebee and Mr. Snake, talkin' 'bout where a day is gone,
Watchin' the flight of that ol' Bluebird as it whistles toward its lover to hurry on.
Can't be disturbed with thoughts of summertime comin'; spring is eternal here,
Just warm enough to keep my soul alive an' cool enough to preserve my cheer.

If I had my way, I'd lay here every chance I got, be a sunflower come the eve,
So the rest of the world had itself a beacon to find the one place I'd never leave.
Good things and cotton clouds, hallowed chamber of times we can never replace,
'Bout the only area I know guaranteed to leave an endless smile upon your face.
Can't smile here, why bother tryin'; you're best left to denyin' yourself the taste,
One thing I learned from my privilege here is some things aren't meant to waste.
