JUST FRIENDS?

ah,"I love you" is such a
sticky situation
for friends to say
in quickie declaration

instead, taking a hike
from friendship
into relationship
remember "I Like Ike!"

if it worked for a nation
liking a candidate
might work for a date
with love in lesser ration

I love things very much
kinda like your shoes
and even your clothes
but the word love is such ....

well, I like you real well
doesn't it show
don't mind if you know
I think that you're swell

jeez, I love to like you
I only meant to say
please understand, okay?
but I'm not "in love" today!
