It was like a corny scene in a movie I was running down the street In the pouring rain When I saw you Through the window Of the wine bar You know the scene, Where the heroine sees her lost Soulmate With his new girlfriend Through a window She stands in the rain and watches Mesmerised Getting fetchingly wetter and wetter The camera zooms in on the solitary tear That, despite the rain You can still see rolling down her cheek And the music reaches its crescendo But that's OK, cos it's a movie And you know they'll get back together In the end And live happily ever after This wasn't a corny scene It wasn't romantic getting drenched And I truly knew the meaning of the phrase 'gut wrenching' Then, as I watched you with her I knew something else You had never Ever Looked at me like that Touched my hair like that I knew then That you had never loved me. |
