I issued a rendezvous raincheck recently A hefty promissory note For a thousand kisses and a hundred tender hugs But now that check will float Reminded of it just today I'll admit I was taken aback For when I issued it funds were there My accounting has gotten off track I love the way my brand new bank Pays dividends on the spot My small investments multiply So quickly, bonds are hot Depositing little every day Soon begins to grow Investments vouchsafed in her heart Are safe as houses, I know I paid the fee to stop payment on that other note today today |
