| I bumped into an old girlfriend today as I walked home after work.I hadn,t seen her in an age and is it odd that we can instantly remember images from the past despite the years that have gone by?.As it was early afternoon I tossed in the idea of a chat and a drink in a local pub over some lunch to which I was amazed she agreed.Its always odd when you meet an old flame,how personal can you get with the questions and in some cases do you really want the answers.When we were together she always wanted children but before I had met her she had been told that she was unable to conceive.This I know made her sad so imagine my surprise and joy for her when she said she had a 3 year old little girl, guess the doctors were wrong.As always after a few drinks we get a little mellow and talk of old times. The subject of " us " came up , why did we split,would we have made it, could we have made it .I asked her if she was happy now,she said yes,she had a nice guy in her life, beautiful daughter,life was good.As we left the pub I kissed her goodbye,we wouldn,t meet again, she was happy why spoil it.Sometimes the choices we make are right or wrong, if we had stayed together all those years ago she may not have had found the happiness she now has.Although we sometimes think of the past we must look at what we have now,maybe good maybe not so but we have touched other peoples lives and out there somewhere occasionally we will cross peoples minds.It was good to see her again. |
