STILL AND ALWAYS DESIRING
desiring ... there is that inch of your skin
I somehow failed to touch last night
maybe you didn't notice the omission
a failure to draw my fingers across ...
a missed opportunity on my mission
still, to touch every bit of you
these skating ballet fingers in fascination
as one would draw across a frosted pane
or down the leaf's surface morning dew
fascinated fingers skimming your pond
reaching to touch exhaled breath in winter
summer's perspiration ... the dew of you
you, forever my deepest, wildest river
no dam holds, my need, filling my needs
in comfort as my laughing spring stream
always my ocean to dream and float in
my sea, pulling me down into you
the gentle rain kisses to my earthy needs
wild hurricane that takes my breath away
tidepool eyes I lose myself into
come, let me touch that inch I missed
and I will tell you about how only you
are also the very air I breathe, and more
needing to touch once again, forevermore
