UNA ORMIGA (A Thank You)

UNA ORMIGA (A Thank You)

To: "glo-po"~ I want to thank this beautiful lady and kind friend, with her own serious health issues, who has mentally helped me in recovery from additional health loss from cancer/radiation neucrosis, aphasia, other daily miseries and life's challenges. The challenge from "glo-po" that lead up to my "Una Omigra" / anteater is one such daily exercise.

And thanks to My Captain, Rennie's Captain, for his steady encouragements (to write, to live again, to live while there is life in me) and unwaivering loving kindness even in the face of my anger over health, death and inabilities.

My love and admiration to both of you for making me, like Carver, beloved ..... Rennie

UNA ORMIGA

Moral: Those who are real fans/lovers, and like a writer's works, may read but not always be visible to the rest of the general community critiquing the work.

The same may be said for those who really love a person. As writers, we do not always know if we are beloved as Raymond Carver, or mocked as Baudelaire's albatross. There is no writer, living or dead, who does not have a fan or fans, or naysayers and detractors. One naysayer can be like the single ant's bite, an aggravation.

A kindly community can be like the ant colony in enjoying or protecting the writer. It all goes back to the importance of consensus within the community.

We deal with critique, as Jules Renard noted, by everyone and anyone, whether they are writers or not. I prefer to believe that anyone can twist a good line at the right moment ... so, in my mind, anyone who writes or critiques is due the same criticism or consumption by the community where they dare to exhibit themselves.

We all dare to venture out, and to expire, at some point as the una ormiga. But even tiny she-ormiga had those caring somewhere behind her. Dorothy Parker finally got her hands on THE pencil, and Miss Emily D, with better than 1,700 poems found in her collection, finally got notice in Atlantic Monthly.

It is within you as to how you take praise or criticism. In the meantime, GO love AND write ..... Rennie
