EDUCATED SIMPLE MAN

should I pine for a superman or einstein
be a devoted fan for any man, sip wine
with one who thinks himself far superior
or go settling quantum solace for inferior

should I think less of the man who farms
or sweeps me off my feet into his arms
and backward glance, can see to things
knows what's real, leaves bathtub rings

should I grovel to an intelligent bmoc man
who doesn't know fan belt from an oil pan
with checkbook in hand and whining ways
thinks the times fishing are wasted forays

should I just tell you now how I want it all
a man who can plow, make judgment call
who sweeps the deck, sweeps me off feet
thinks I am cuddly, smart, quick and deep

should I tell him just how I've tasted it all
a woman who's been enchanted, had it all
who totes her own checkbook, won't fall
to just any line, but for "right" guy will fall

should I make it plain and simple, so easy
what kind of nonsense makes me queasy
and how I get excited over complex things
but simple and honest, You give me a ring
