Heart's Not Enough

Come along, and I'll show what I've learned; but don't be afraid of what you'll see,
Look in the right spot and imagination guides you toward what you wanted it to be.
I can sense the tremble in your hand; please believe me when I tell you it's okay,
Those who shall discover the worthwhile things know intrepidation is the only way.
Just beyond what you comprehend is universe unto itself; many worlds all as one,
Perhaps the end to your infinite capacity for possibility lies in a darklit parallel sun.

You see, my darling, I am a prisoner here, in chains of this fleshy, sanguine state,
Having tasted a perfection of undefined infinitum, let me go there; oh, I can't wait.
I detest the limitation of life itself; were it that I never were than as I am right now,
For every day that I awaken I know something higher than I ends it; no matter how.
My dizziness is as Earth's revolution; disorientation, perhaps, but what you observe!
Let the cosmos insignificate me with a grandiose span, I shall embrace it with verve.

I say to myself as the world that you know nothing as a human being, not quite yet;
Having so many things we've left to learn that momentary bliss is as close as we get.
Wherever the next step lies, whatever it is, it must be something majestic to behold,
Let the day I perish from the cradle of this uncivilization be where it begins to unfold.
But before I close, I have a secret to tell you all, one I uncovered the day I met her,
To love for a moment, a heart's not enough; to have it forever, your soul must concur.
