Here's another story 'bout Baby. She sent a postcard home today Says she's been stayin out in Vegas Tryin to make it day by day She's workin as a Showgirl Makin her livin on a stage They're payin her well out there She says she can't complain Baby plans on headin to the shore Maybe down to Jersey she says Heard that's where all the fun is But nothin's definite yet She bought her a brand new car One of them fancy Mercedes Benz She eats in Four Star Restaurants And even made her a few new friends. But Baby, she gets bored fast Can't stay in one place too long So Baby just picks up and runs Leavin only her name to carry on. Said when she gets to the shore She thinks she'll like it there Always something to do and see Heard there's good men every where. Baby ain't comin back no time soon She likes livin her life on the run. She can be who ever she wants And move on when her work is done She had nobody home to miss her What's done is done, what's said is said But we'll never forget about Baby So long as we keep gettin postcards from the edge.
