With people like him - you will have to do the expressing for him.,,, not be cause he won't - but because he can't. He's always been like that. Ask his Mom and his Dad. He never smiled and he never laughed. They never knew when or if he was having a good time. He wants to laugh and he wants to cry - much more than you will ever know - But he can't. And he's waiting on you to make all the moves - Don't wait on him - cause you will wait forever. If you love him - just resolve yourself that you cannot change him. But you can change yourself if you want to. And if you change yourself - you may find surprises. Go out of your way once in awhile and for no reason whatsoever - grab a hold to him and cuddle up with him...... and tell him how much you love him. Grab hold to his hand and caress it - put his hand to your mouth and gently kiss it. Cradle his head in your arms and pull him close to your breast. Tell him how special he is - How proud you are of him..... How much you appreciate how hard he works.... When he calls on the phone - whisper into it of how much you miss him. and how you can hardly wait till he gets home. Stroke his hair and tell him how soft it is. Put your face against his and tell him how happy you are to be his wife. Positive suggestions work so well. Don't make up stuff - or lie to him..... but truly look hard to see some merits in his life and in his way - and bring them to his attention. The more positive you are with him - the better you both will feel. He may not respond in a way that you might desire or understand - but deep in his heart - he'll feel glad that you did what he wants to do - but can't. He'll be so happy that you can find some redeeming qualities in him. He'll be happy inside that you can tell him all the things that he wants to tell you - but can't. Don't isolate these affectionate encounters to just a few - but as you begin to feel more comfortable with them.... you'll begin to make him feel like the luckiest guy in the world. Let's face it - you're married to a "SPHINX" who is filled with tremendous feelings, but is uncomfortable with showing them. He can't tell you how much he adores you - But look at his eyes when he looks at you - They tell it all. |
