your kiss, lingers on my lips. i run my finger along them, wishing it was your lips i was touching. i look up at the sky, the sun beats down on me, warm on my skin, the ocean is peaceful. the waves echo in my ears, voices lingering in the candlelight, I love yous heard in the distance. I gaze out at the sea, the vastness surrounds me. all is well in the world. except you are there and i am here. i draw a heart in the sand with my finger. the waves come along, washing it away. mocking me. they wash away my heart, my pain, my tears, but my love, they will never wash away. |
