night sky is perfect and i don't want to go out. it's been a long time since i'm up late with a boy on a sunday night but work tomorrow can wait. i'm happy here now, seeing your face gleaming with a million stars. your nearness sends me comfort i never thought possible. your warmth made me forget it's 65 degrees outside after the long heat of summer. you brushed your toes against mine as if to enfold me in every little way. your lips are on my hair when you mentioned something about coconuts. i just giggled inside at the thought of my new shampoo. our hearts are beating in unison when you hushed "wait here comes the best part..." with a gentle kiss, as i see a girl looking thru a telescope to view a star her lover named after her. "maybe i can do that for you..." you said and i smiled from ear to ear that my face hurts. i've read about this before, from my romance paperback years in highschool. at 27 i finally recall how it feels, to be sixteen and young when you thought everything lasts forever. this moment will forever be etched in my head. for you may be gone tomorrow, or next week, who knows when. my thoughts wandered to nothingness as we fade into the moon. |
