She's like a beautiful butterfly that turned into an... Exquisitely gorgeous, bejeweled and luxurious butterfly. First, the traumatic cocooning, Escaping a life of over-indulgence, boredom, and apprehension. A time of searching and rest. Or maybe of unrest -- horrific, inexcusable, debilitating conflict. Second, a period of adjustment To new light, new attentions, new attitude. A short but agonizing stage, giving back life's breath Yet at the same time anxiously testing the new heart. Third, a settling down Deep inhalation, absorbing the earlier surroundings with a new appreciation. Making plans, getting involved, And most importantly, developing a new contentment in one's self Finally, to come, the ultimate yet never-ending climax: Finding a life's connection -- to one soul, to one pleasure, to one existence. |
