Red Bird sing your song to me Show yourself, re-embody. Your rhapsody in my head It keeps these dreams fed. (The watchband broke again Alas once more it I will mend.) If we keep falling undone And if our songs are left unsung I will gather these fragments. If we dwell like this: stagnant I will cleanse like fire That of which we tire Rebirth like feathery red ashes. Those entreating lips and butterfly lashes Those ample hips and full bosom Star caught eyes and hair of dark autumn Quick wit and child like nature These things and more I savor. I see you for the first time each time And every time I swear is sublime. |
