I wanted to write a poem about a tree The most beautiful tree that I did ever see It held its leaves while others, they let theirs fall A tiny tree, yet still kept passers in awe Golden tones displayed from underneath And royal red topped every trembling leaf But the words I find could never do it justice And in this way it reminded me of...just us Stretching to make each day a lovely rhyme Trying to fill the silence with these lines Because like those leaves beneath a passionate red A heart beats golden with words I've never said For fear, perhaps that you'll deny their worth Or in hopes that maybe you might say them first Will I wait until those leaves fall to the ground To turn and find that you're no longer around |
